CC-TAPIS AT NUOVO HONG KONG

24.03.2026

During Art Basel Hong Kong 2026, we are proud to have contributed to Sequence — A Listening Room at NUOVO Hong Kong with The Color of Copper collection.

The exhibition marked Kwangho Lee’s first solo presentation in Hong Kong, bringing together 20 unique chairs alongside his rug collection for cc-tapis, within NUOVO’s sculptural showroom and accompanied by curated soundscapes by B&O.

Conceived as a cross-disciplinary environment, the project explored the relationship between object, space, and sound.

Lee’s chairs, crafted from sponge pipes and nylon rope, then coated in polyurethane, evoked oversized knits and organic, almost living forms. Blurring the line between industrial material and handcraft, they reimagined seating as expressive, sculptural pieces, informed by Lee’s ongoing research into transformation, tactility, and the emergence of the organic from the artificial.

Within this setting, The Color of Copper translated the evolving patina of copper into a tactile surface. Hand-knotted by skilled artisans in Himalayan wool, silk, and aloe fiber, the rugs extended this exploration of material transformation, reinforcing a dialogue between texture, form, and atmosphere.

Together, the elements shaped a multi-sensory environment where craft, material research, and sound converged into a unified spatial experience.
