MEMORY CURTAINS BY OLDER

cc-tapis supports Dropcity’s program by participating in Memory Curtains, an exhibition by Morten Thuesen & Letizia Caramia.

THE EXHIBITION

The multi-disciplinary design studio OLDER specialized in sustainable "furniforms” (furniture/uniform), intersects photography, painting and architecture to create eight pieces transferring digitalized photographs onto fabrics, stretched over large-scale iron frames.

Each motif, drawn from analogue photographs taken by Morten Thuesen over the past decade, depicts naturalistic and urban scenes devoid of specific locations. Exhibited for the first time as constructed artefacts, these images are encased in monolithic wooden crates, traditionally used for transporting artworks, and paired with static light installations designed to filter luminosity through the structures.

THE WORKSHOP

Conceived as an extension of the architectural installation, a workshop run by renowned screen printer Andrea Baldelli and assisted by cc-tapis will be held throughout the exhibition. Baldelli will screenprint a series of motifs by Morten Thuesen and Letizia Caramia onto blankets samples and cc-tapis' archive rugs.
