CC-TAPIS PROJECT FOR ABSTRACT NOTES AT TIVOLIVREDENBURG

Abstract Notes marks the completion of the renewed monumental foyers surrounding the Great Hall of TivoliVredenburg.

Originally designed by Herman Hertzberger, the historic foyers have been carefully reimagined by the architecture collective deMunnik-deJong-Steinhauser, who restored their spatial clarity while introducing a contemporary layer of materials, light and comfort.

As part of this transformation, cc-tapis, together with textile designer Mae Engelgeer, developed bespoke textile elements that contribute to the impressive two-storey, 600 m² installation bringing colour, tactility and depth to the space.

Every detail reflects a close dialogue between architecture, interior and textile — a Gesamtkunstwerk in which past and present flow naturally into each other.
