CC-TAPIS AT MÜNCHNER STOFF FRÜHLING

24.03.2026

On the occasion of Münchner Stoff Frühling, we presented Ripple by Patricia Urquiola in new shapes and colors as part of a special exhibition curated by Stephanie Thatenhorst, together with Dedar

With Ripple, Patricia Urquiola translates the rhythm of a digital gesture into a tactile composition. A single sketched line unfolds and multiplies, creating soft, kinetic layers that evoke the movement of rippling water.

Crafted in wool and silk and defined by variations in cut-pile height, the rug reveals a dynamic interplay of texture and depth, where movement becomes material.

Presented within a curated exhibition environment at Atelier Hermann Rosa, a striking example of German architecture designed and built in 1968 by the sculptor and architect Hermann Rosa, Ripple’s new configurations highlight the collection’s versatility and sculptural presence. Conceived as a large-scale inhabitable sculpture, the atelier embodies Rosa’s radical vision, defined by raw materials, austere tonalities, and an unadorned aesthetic that challenged the conventions of its time.

Framed by this distinctive architectural language, and further shaped by the curatorial direction of Stephanie Thatenhorst, the installation invites visitors to experience movement through material and form, engaging in a dialogue between contemporary design and the enduring spatial philosophy of the site.
