cc-tapis is a contemporary rug company based in Milan, aiming to bring its imaginative approach, bespoke attitude and collaborative ethos to each and every project
Founded in 2011, today cc-tapis has a catalog that includes a wide range of rugs designed in partnership with forward-thinking creatives and brands. This model allows the company to constantly explore new aesthetics and manufacturing solutions, in a process of continuous research and cross-pollination.
The majority of cc-tapis’ collections are handmade in the company’s ateliers in Nepal and India, where high-quality raw materials such as Himalayan wool, pure silk and linen are shaped by master artisans, following a centuries-old craftsmanship tradition. Smaller productions are carried out in Italy, where cc-tapis keeps pushing the limits of what is considered possible in the realms of rug-making through modern technologies like robotufting.
Over the years, the company has developed a substantial know-how in creating custom rugs for specific projects. Today, this ability makes cc-tapis a leader in bespoke services for companies and professionals working in the contract and residential sectors.

Production
Production for cc-tapis means the privilege to create something by hand, the freedom to explore artisanal skill and the ability to express the ideas of creatives. Central to the company, cc-tapis' production began in Nepal utilizing traditional Tibetan handknotting, expanded to India for the production of handloom and handtufted rugs and more recently to a new Milanese prototyping facility for the creation of one of a kind prototypes using cutting edge robotufting technology. cc-tapis can offer clients a comprehensive selection of production techniques to respond to any project request.

Materials
cc-tapis brings ideas to life through the use of materials. An integral part of each project, natural materials such as Himalayan wool, pure silk, and linen are locally sourced, refined by hand and woven into rugs, honoring the skill of the artisans and the concept of the designer. Alongside traditional materials, cc-tapis explores the potential in regenerated fibers, creating pieces that balance heritage and sustainability, weaving the past into the present.

Guided by a sustainable approach that doesn’t stop at production, cc-tapis’ commitment to sustainability extends beyond producing timeless hand-made rugs with a selection of organic and natural materials; cc-tapis’ aim is to embrace tradition through innovation. For years cc-tapis has undertaken a path of transversal reduction through its production and distribution processes, paying attention to social, human and economic factors.
Social Sustainability
In 2015, cc-tapis founded the non-profit organization cc-for education, a non profit organization with the mission to provide private education to the children of weavers in Nepal.
