Giudecca

From a photo of a Venetian flight of stairs Zanellato/Bortotto decided to reinterpret the iconic image of steps covered in water by the lagoon through the colors and materials of a rug: Giudecca. The different tones of grey of the wool create the stone steps, marked by salt and the effects of time. The sea and the vibrations of the waves are transformed into a shimmering silk surface where tones of blue and green radiate together introducing a new contemporary vision through a rug completely knotted by hand in Nepal.
