Les Arcs
Designed BY CHARLOTTE PERRIAND
“Antelope”, “Abeille”, “Abricot" and “Azalée” are some of the names the French Architect carefully marked out in the borders of each sketch dated 1972, creating a palette of 12 assorted shades.
about the collection
Conceived as woven panels for the apartments of the Les Arcs 1600 ski station in the French Alps, after more than 50 years, Charlotte Perriand’s mastery of colour is presented as a collection of hand-knotted rugs.
Guided by Charlotte Perriand’s original crayon drawings, cc-tapis methodically reproduced her colour-blocked illustrations respecting the “grand format” and “petit format” proportions outlined in each technical sketch.
Initiated by Pernette Perriand Barsac - Charlotte Perriand’s daughter - in partnership with cc-tapis, by combining multiple dyeing processes with hand-knotting and carding, Les Arcs is a testament to Perriand’s lifelong passion for artisanal craft.
