ABOUT THE COLLECTION

Lines began with Philippe Malouin sketching irregular parallel lines with wax crayon. A design which evolved through trial and error with the final aesthetic being part of an experimental process.

A perfect mixture of vision, design and craftsmanship, Lines is a minimal yet essential collection of rugs.

Philippe Malouin explores gestures in their most naive form: the seemingly simple mark of a crayon.

Special Tibetan craftsmanship was combined with a clever “dip-dying” technique for coloring the Himalayan wool. The combination of which achieved the same imprecise feeling of the original drawings of irregular lines with soft and uneven tones. An irregularity which is accentuated during production when the weavers use a different ball of yarn which results in a “glitch” in the design.
