about the collection

British designer Faye Toogood has delved into her material library to create Inventory.

Each rug experiments with a variety of quilting, applique and stitching techniques: “Cage” features a diamond latticework effect derived from steel grilles; “Rope” and “Quilt” incorporate sinuous appliqued coils; “Thread” and “Patch” play with layering and fraying; and the diagonally bisected “Tack” features a graphic, abstracted stitching detail.

Inventory translates postindustrial influences such as vulcanized rubber, distressed plaster and security mesh into raw yet gentle furnishings.

Produced entirely by hand in Nepal, using eco-friendly wools and silks, Inventory combines the hand-knotting and the hand-weaving techniques in a palette of cream, charcoal and raw, undyed tones.
