Founded in 2011, today cc-tapis has a catalog that includes a wide range of rugs designed in partnership with forward-thinking creatives and brands. This model allows the company to constantly explore new aesthetics and manufacturing solutions, in a process of continuous research and cross-pollination.

The majority of cc-tapis’ collections are handmade in the company’s ateliers in Nepal, Thailand and India, where high-quality raw materials such as Himalayan wool, pure silk and linen are shaped by master artisans, following a centuries-old craftsmanship tradition. Smaller productions are carried out in Italy, where cc-tapis keeps pushing the limits of what is considered possible in the realms of rug-making through modern technologies like robotufting. 

Over the years, the company has developed a substantial know-how in creating custom rugs for specific projects. Today, this ability makes cc-tapis a leader in bespoke services for companies and professionals working in the contract and residential sectors.

For cc-tapis, production is the privilege of creating by hand — a space where artisanal skill can be explored and the ideas of creatives can take form. Rooted in age-old traditions, rugs are still made today as they were generations ago: in Nepal through traditional Tibetan hand-knotting, and in India using a rich repertoire of techniques such as handloom, chainstitch, hand-tufting and embroidery, all born and perfected on the subcontinent. Over time, this heritage has expanded to include a Milanese prototyping facility, where one-of-a-kind pieces are developed using cutting-edge robotufting technology. This unique combination of tradition and innovation allows cc-tapis to offer a comprehensive range of techniques to respond to any project request.

Integral to each project, natural fibres such as Himalayan wool, pure silk and linen are locally sourced, refined by hand and woven into rugs, honouring both the skill of the artisans and the vision of the designer. A key step in this commitment is carbon neutrality: since 2022, cc-tapis has pursued its mission to become carbon neutral by offsetting transportation emissions.
